Harmanpreet praised the national team for putting in a lot of energy on the field.

The Indian women's team beat England by 347 runs in the one-off Test in Navi Mumbai.

Harmanpreet Kaur found herself overwhelmed with emotions as India dominated England by 347 runs in the Women's Test at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

This marked the Indian skipper's return to playing a Test match on home soil since the match against South Africa in Mysore back in 2014.

Expressing her joy, the 34-year-old, who has participated in four Tests throughout her career, was delighted with India's exceptional performance in the game.

In an interview with Jemimah Rodrigues, available on BCCI's official website, Harmanpreet shared her feelings about winning her first Test as captain.

"To be honest, I am blank right now. I am not able to get my words together and explain how I am feeling. It's a very emotional feeling for me because I was playing a Test match after a long time. The match turned out to be one-sided. It's great," she said.

Harmanpreet commended the team for their energetic performance on the field, emphasising the impact of such energy on changing the course of matches.

"The energy you guys bring whenever we are on the field is something very special. I feel in a team if you have that energy, you can go and change any game any day," she added.

She played a crucial role with the bat, notching scores of 49 and an unbeaten 44 in the Women's Test. Her chance at a half-century in the first innings was thwarted when she got out at the striker's end due to a direct hit from Danni Wyatt.

Setting a formidable target of 479 for Heather Knight's England, India showcased their dominance by dismissing the opposition for a mere 131 in 27.3 overs. The standout performer, Deepti Sharma, earned the Player of the Match title for her remarkable display, contributing a half-century and taking nine wickets, including a five-wicket haul. Test debutants Shubha Satheesh and Jemimah made a strong impression with notable half-centuries.
