Dengue fever continues to strike ODI World Cup 2023 camp as another positive case after Shubman Gill has battered the vibe of the ongoing showpiece event. Now, India's ace commentator Harsha Bhogle has been diagnosed with dengue and is set to miss the India vs Pakistan's blockbuster action which is slated to take place at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14, Saturday.
Harsha Bhogle took to X (previously known as Twitter), to confirm that he down with dengue fever. Expressing his regret at not being able to be a part of the epic clash, Bhogle stated, "I am disappointed at having to miss out on #IndiavsPak on the 14th. But I have dengue and the resultant weakness, and lowered immunity, will make it impossible. I am hoping to be back in time for the game on the 19th. My colleagues, and the broadcast crew, have been very helpful (and took on the extra workload during the second half of #IndiaVsAus) and I look forward to saying thank you to them in person."
The dengue fever hasn't just affected the commentary box but also the pitch. India's promising opening batter Gill, had previously been diagnosed with the ailment. While Gill has reached Ahmedabad before the Indian team ahead of India vs Pakistan's high-octane drama but his participation is still subject to his recovery and fitness.
Both the Indian and Pakistani teams have displayed impeccable form, clinching victories in their first two matches of this World Cup.
