Pakistan finally bid adieu to World Cup 2023 after suffering yet another embarrassing defeat, this time at the hands of England at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 11, Saturday.

Pakistan lost the match the moment they lost the toss and Jos Buttler decided to bat first. Yet Pakistan must have wished for a morale boosting win to end their World Cup campaign on a high, but England, who were already eliminated from the semis race, dashed Men in Green's last wish.

Meanwhile, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam rued Pakistan's nightmarish campaign in the World Cup 2023 and in the hindsight feels the story could have been different had they performed better against South Africa, which according to him was the turning point for them.

In the post match presentation Babar said,"very disappointed with the performance. If we had won SA match, could've been a different story. But yes, have made mistakes in bowling, batting and fielding."

In their last group match of the World Cup 2023, Pakistan suffered a 93-run defeat at the hands of England. Batting first England posted a big total of 337/9 riding on impressive fifties from Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes and Joe Root. In reply, Babar's men faltered and were bowled out for mere 244 to suffer their fifth defeat of the tournament.

On Pakistan's defeat against England, Babar said,"We gave 20-30 runs extra. Bowled few loose deliveries. Our spinners haven't taken wickets. That's had a big effect. If spinners don't take wickets in middle over, you struggle. We have to sit together. Let's see. Will take positives and discuss our mistakes also."
