Pakistan initiated their innings with promise, racing to 70/2 in merely 12 overs. However, the game shifted dramatically as India introduced their spin wizards, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. Pakistan's star batsmen, Babar Azam and the prolific Mohammad Rizwan, struggled to capitalize against this spin challenge. Their cautionary approach was evident as they amassed a mere 80 runs over the subsequent 18 overs. This slowdown paved the way for India's spinners to assert dominance, leading to Pakistan's dramatic collapse, ending their innings at a modest 191.

Reflecting on the match, India's vice-captain, Hardik Pandya, emphasized the defensive strategy employed by Babar and Rizwan. According to Pandya, their reluctance to take risks kept India in the driving seat throughout the match.

"Babar and Rizwan were scared. They didn't take any chances, which is why we thought we were always in the game. There wasn't much in the pitch for the bowlers. They didn't try going for shots or attack us, which is why we were able to bowl dot balls. I have seen that if two players bat in the same way, if one gets out, then it opens up a lot of doors," Pandya said after the match to the official broadcaster.

When it was India's turn to chase the 192-run target, they exhibited unmatched aggression right from the outset. Openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma laid the foundation with their assertive play. Even after the dismissals of Gill and the maestro, Virat Kohli, India maintained their aggressive stance, achieving the target effortlessly in 30.3 overs.

This impressive victory bolstered India's position, placing them at the summit of the league table with a pristine record of three wins in as many matches. While New Zealand matches India's win tally, they lag slightly in terms of Net Run Rate.

Looking ahead, fans eagerly await India's next clash against Bangladesh, scheduled for 19th October in Pune.
