Following a commanding victory over their long-time adversaries Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14, the Indian men's cricket squad have now touched down in Pune, gearing up for their next ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 clash against Bangladesh, to be held on Thursday, October 19.

India left an indelible mark against Pakistan, securing a resounding seven-wicket win. This triumph ensures India's impeccable record against Pakistan in the 50-over World Cup remains untarnished, having beaten them in eight straight matches and in every ODI World Cup since 1992.

The city was charged with unparalleled excitement leading up to this monumental match, with India swiftly taking the reins, bundling out Pakistan for a mere 191 in just 43 overs. Despite promising knocks from Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49), Pakistan's innings fell apart before completing their quota of 50 overs.

Leading from the front, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma smashed a fiery 86, ensuring the two-time World Cup winners sailed to their target in merely 30.3 overs, upholding their undefeated World Cup legacy against Pakistan.

On the points table, boasting six points from three encounters, India confidently occupies the top spot. While New Zealand also has an impeccable record from their three matches, India's superior Net Run Rate of 1.821 gives them an edge over the Kiwis, who hold a rate of 1.604.

It's noteworthy to mention that New Zealand has marked victories against Bangladesh, Netherlands, and England in their World Cup campaign so far.

On the other hand, Pakistan currently holds the fourth position with four points, trailing behind South Africa in the third spot. Pakistan initially showcased impressive form with consecutive victories over the Netherlands and Sri Lanka but faced a setback against India in their third fixture. England and Bangladesh trail Pakistan, occupying the fifth and sixth positions, both teams securing two points each.
