'Balaji Zara dheere chalo': Irfan Pathan gives proof of Indian cricketers attacked by Pakistan fans, shares screenshots

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan on October 19 (Thursday) provided proof of Indian cricketers being attacked on the ground by Pakistan fans when the team traveled to the neighbouring country to play cricket. Irfan's latest reaction came after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) registered a complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for 'inappropriate conduct' of its players during their World Cup match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Irfan took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared screenshots of news articles revealing the ill-treatment of Indian cricketers in Pakistan and also revealed the verbal abuse hurled at the players by fans.

"I m still saying it happens. There were many good fans were there who chanted Balaji Zara dheere chalo with love before this trip. But this incident happened too. we moved on and focused on winning rather than crying abt it," Ifran wrote wile shared screenshots along with the tweet.

Talking about PCB's complaint, the Pakistan's cricket governing body in had earlier said in a tweet that, "The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023."

"The PCB has also filed a complaint regarding inappropriate conduct targeted at the Pakistan squad during the India vs Pakistan match held on 14 October 2023," it added.

Talking about the match between India and Pakistan that was played on October 14 (Saturday) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Rohit Sharma's men turned the game into a one-sided contest and secured a commanding seven-wicket victory with 19.3 overs to spare.

Captain Rohit starred with the bat once again and played a scintillating knock of 86 runs with the help of six fours and as many sixes. Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten half-century while the bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, were impeccable in executing their game plan.
