It seems that cricketers are increasingly finding solace in the serene greens of golf courses. Whenever there's a respite from the cricketing world, many are seen teeing off, enjoying the parallels between the cricket bat's swing and the golf club's strike. Recently, England's cricket sensation, Ben Stokes, was spotted indulging in this very pastime, alongside former England captain, Alastair Cook.

The duo decided to test their golfing skills at the renowned Ryder Cup venue. Stokes, known for his powerful cricketing shots, didn't disappoint on the golf course either. With his very first swing, he sent the golf ball soaring, much to the astonishment of Cook. The shot was so impressive that Cook, in sheer disbelief, exclaimed, "Oh God, this can't happen. You are kidding." This candid moment left Stokes chuckling at his former captain's reaction.

Switching gears back to cricket, it's worth noting that Ben Stokes had previously announced his ODI retirement in 2022. However, the allure of the World Cup 2023 proved too tempting, and he made a triumphant return. And what a return it was! During the England and New Zealand series, Stokes marked his comeback with a stellar half-century in the opening match. He then outdid himself by smashing a staggering 182 runs off just 124 balls, setting a new record for England's highest individual ODI score. This monumental innings was adorned with 15 boundaries and 9 maximums. Over the three-match series, Stokes accumulated a whopping 255 runs.

His recent performances have sent a clear message to competitors: Ben Stokes is in prime form and has his eyes set on the World Cup 2023 trophy. It's a reminder of his pivotal role in England's historic ODI World Cup victory in 2019. As Stokes gears up for the upcoming World Cup in India, fans and opponents alike are eagerly awaiting his next move, both on the cricket pitch and perhaps, the golf course.
