Australian wreaked havoc on Pakistan's tearaway pacer Haris Rauf to cleaners in their ODI World Cup match in Bengaluru on October 20, Friday.
It was a rare sight to see one of the fastest bowlers of the world getting brutally hammered at the Chinnaswamy stadium in a crucial World Cup encounter between Pakistan and Australia.
Rauf, who is renowned for hitting 150-plus speed while bowling, bagged various embarrassing records against his name on Friday.
He started off by leaking 24 runs in his very first over which was the third most expensive over by a Pakistani bowler in the ODI World Cup. Now he is only behind Abdul Razzaq and Shoaib Akhtar. Both Razzaq and Akhtar found themselves in the unwanted list in the 2011 ODI World Cup. Razzaq was hammered for 30 runs against New Zealand, while Shoaib leaked 28 runs in the same game in an over.

This was also the second most expensive overs of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 after Sri Lanka's Matheesha Pathirana.
Most expensive overs in World Cup 2023 (runs conceded by bowler):
26 - Pathirana v SA
24 - RAUF v Aus
23 - Rajitha v SA
23 - Coetzee v SL
23 - Mahmud v Ind
Costliest overs in this WC
Matheesha Pathirana (SL) - 26 vs SA (43rd over)
Haris Rauf (PAK) - 24 vs AUS (9th)
Gerald Coetzee (SA) - 23 vs SL (37th)
Hasan Mahmud (BAN) - 23 vs IND (13th)
Kasun Rajitha (SL) - 23 vs SL (49th)
In another embarrassing record, Haris Rauf conceded 50 runs in mere 21 balls, which is the the fastest World Cup 'half-century' for a bowler. Earlier, this record was held by Zimbabwe's Ian Butchart who leaked 50 runs off 22 balls against New Zealand in 1992 World Cup. Australia's Mitchell Johnson too conceded 22-ball 50 against New Zealand in the 2015 ODI World Cup.
Rauf began that 24-run over facing David Warner, who immediately showcased his dominance over the bowler. Warner greeted Rauf with a boundary on the very first ball, followed by a towering 98m six over fine leg that ricocheted off the stadium's roof and came back to the ground.
Warner momentarily eased off on the third ball, taking a single. However, Mitchell Marsh then took charge, unleashing a flurry of three successive boundaries against Rauf in the over's concluding deliveries.
Rauf in a spell of eight overs conceded 83 runs and took the wickets of David Warner (163), Marnus Labuschagne (8) and Josh Inglis (13). Australia ended up posting a total of 367/9.
