Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will be among the dignitaries gracing the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia, scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19.
The Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel convened a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar on Friday to review security arrangements and other preparations for the momentous match. The meeting involved top officials from various departments, including police, traffic, and transportation.
Authorities have deployed a significant contingent of approximately 4,500 personnel to ensure the smooth conduct of the match, ensuring security for the teams, VIPs, and spectators. Additionally, traffic management plans have been carefully crafted to minimize disruptions and ensure seamless movement of fans.
Chief Minister Patel emphasized the importance of minimizing inconvenience to the public due to VIP movement. He instructed officials to provide timely and accurate information regarding road closures and diversions to facilitate informed travel decisions.
To cater to the expected influx of fans from across India and abroad, the frequency of metro trains running towards Motera station, located near the stadium, will be increased. This measure aims to provide convenient transportation options for cricket enthusiasts.
The Indian team arrived in Ahmedabad on Thursday evening and engaged in a practice session at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. Meanwhile, the Australian team reached the city on Friday.
Ahead of the much-awaited final, the Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran aerobatics team will showcase their breathtaking aerial artistry in an air show scheduled for Sunday.
