Former India captain and maverick batter, Virat Kohli knows how to unleash spectacular hits and stun the onlookers. Exactly one year ago, Kohli unleashed the famous six straight down the ground off Haris Rauf's bowling at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) during the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan. In the ODI World Cup match against New Zealand on October 22 (Sunday), the attractive batter once again shocked the audience when he unleashed a stunning shot and sent the ball beyond the boundary roped.
The moment occurred on the 47th over of India's run chase when Trent Boult delivered a short ball and Kohli just dismissed it out of his presence. The ball went parallel to the ground and traveled beyond the mid-wicket fence for a 'rocket' six. It was a statement shot and an authoritative one, one that sent a clear message: "I am the King".

Upon watching Kohli's shot, legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar, who was in the commentary box, 'jumped out of his chair' in excitement and was in awe of the hit unleashed by India's No.3 batter.
'What a shot. What a shot. We have seen Rohit Sharma play pull off the front foot, and now Kohli is showing that he can do that as well. This shot went like a rocket. That is massive," Gavaskar said on air reacting to Kohli's magical six.
It was yet another Kohli masterclass in a run chase that sealed the deal for India in Dharamsala. While the Indian superstar fell five runs short of what would have been another scintillating century in run chases, Kohli did enough to ensure the Men in Blue remain unbeaten in the ongoing ODI World Cup and scaled to the top of the points table by making it five wins in as many matches played.
It was the third time in this year's tournament that Kohli orchestrated India's chase like a master he is. First, it was against Australia under extreme pressure, then came the 103-run knock against Bangladesh and now the Blackcaps were on the receiving end of the King's sheer will and determination. The stylish right-handed batter scored 95 runs before he was caught in the deep as he tried to reach three figures with a maximum. It's important to note that Kohli registered a half-century against Afghanistan which also came in a run chase.
Kohli's brilliance with the bat helped India clinch the game by four wickets with two overs to spare. After another attractive innings, Kohli scaled to the top of the run-scoring charts in this World Cup. Kohli now has 354 runs in five innings and averages a stunning 118.
