Indian cricket sensation, Virat Kohli, is gearing up to create fresh memories for the nation's fans in the upcoming ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, which commences on October 5 in India. Reflecting on the country's iconic 2011 World Cup win, Kohli, in a recent promotion with Star Sports, stated that while the 2011 triumph remains indelible, the team is eager to etch new moments this year.

"The passion and unwavering support of our fans is what fuels our determination to win the World Cup. The memories of past World Cup victories, especially the iconic 2011 win, are etched in our hearts, and we want to create new memories for our fans," said Kohli.

India is set to kickstart their World Cup journey against Australia on October 8. Kohli, a proud member of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad, expressed the team's collective determination to realize the dreams of their ardent fans.

"I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible campaign which perfectly captures the emotions of our fans, and we're ready to give it our all to make their dreams come true," Kohli added.

Echoing similar sentiments, Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, emphasised the squad's resolve to make their supporters proud through stellar on-field performances.

"As a cricketer, there's nothing more motivating than knowing that millions of fans are standing behind you, cheering for your success. This campaign reflects the deep passion and obsession of our fans to see Team India win. It's a journey we're embarking on together with the entire nation, and we're determined to make our fans proud with our performances on the field," said Jadeja.

A total of ten teams will vie for the coveted title. While eight teams secured direct spots, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands clinched the final berths through the qualifiers held in Zimbabwe. The ensemble comprises India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, and the Netherlands.

The event promises nail-biting encounters as teams engage in a round-robin group stage, with the top four progressing to the knockout phase. Cricket aficionados can mark their calendars for the semi-finals in Mumbai on November 15 and Kolkata on November 16. The grand finale is slated for November 19 in Ahmedabad.
