England have won just a single match in the ongoing World Cup, against Bangladesh.

The ODI World Cup 2023 is in full flow as hosts India gears up to face England in their sixth group match. With an unbeaten streak in the tournament, India poses a formidable challenge for the English side, who have been more than poor considering they are the defending champions as well as the T20 World Cup champions.

The Three Lions have won just a single match in the ongoing World Cup, against Bangladesh. The 2019 champions are on the brink of elimination, while a victory will put one of India's feet into the semi-finals.

Ahead of the anticipated clash, Indian cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara shared his insights on ESPNCricinfo. Pujara expressed doubts about England's ability to counter the Indian team in the upcoming match.

On the ESPNCricinfo panel, Pujara remarked, "Doesn't look like. The way they are playing doesn't look like unless they get their approach right. If they don't bat deep enough, if their top order is not batting for through the first 40 overs, I don't see them posting big totals. They have not been batting well and there are games where they have not been bowling well either. Nothing is going right for them and it is high time they think about what is going wrong and come up with a plan for sure."

England's performance in the World Cup has been underwhelming, with just one victory in their initial five matches. They currently sit at the bottom of the group standings. However, following New Zealand's defeat to Australia, England still has a slim chance to secure a semi-final berth. This would require them to win all their upcoming games and rely on favourable outcomes in other matches.

The much-anticipated match between India and England is scheduled for Sunday, 29 October, at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. India will be playing without Hardik Pandya, a key player who is currently sidelined due to injury and is undergoing recovery at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
