Virat Kohli etched his name in history as the first-ever player to hit 50 ODI centuries, accomplishing this milestone during the ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final against New Zealand at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, November 15.

Leading the innings, the former Indian captain secured his century in 106 balls. Despite grappling with cramps in the 90s, Kohli successfully reached his century, marking his third in the ongoing tournament.

Additionally, he surpassed Tendulkar, now holding the record for the most runs in a single World Cup edition. Tendulkar's 673 runs in the 2003 edition were eclipsed by Kohli, who amassed an impressive total of 711 runs.
