The India and New Zealand semifinal clash promises to be one of the tastiest encounters of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 in what is a replay of the semifinal of the 2019 edition of the tournament. The match, which will take place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 15, will also see some of the biggest names in the sports industry gracing the occasion, including English football legend David Beckham.

Beckham, who is in India for the game as the goodwill ambassador of UNICEF, took time out before the game to catch up with members of Team India as they were preparing for the match against New Zealand on the Wankhede field.

He was seen in conversation with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar as well as other members of the Indian cricket team, including Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav.

In another set of photos that have gone viral on social media, Beckham met cricket icon Virat Kohli, and the duo played a game of football as the treble-winner with Manchester United helped Virat Kohli warm up ahead of the New Zealand clash.

Meanwhile, India skipper Rohit Sharma has given his team the perfect start with an incredible 47 which came off in 29 balls riding on four sixes and as many maximums before perishing to Tim Southee in the ninth over to leave India 71/1. In doing so, he busted Chris Gayle's all-time record of hitting most sixes in the ICC ODI World Cup. Gayle has 49 sixes against his name but Rohit went two steps ahead of him and has so far cracked 51 sixes.

In addition to this, Rohit Sharma also reached the significant milestone of most sixes in a single World Cup edition, once again beating Chris Gayle. The 36-year-old batter has a remarkable 28 sixes in the current ODI World Cup, surpassing Gayle's record of 26 sixes set in the 2015 edition.
