In the wake of the Asia Cup 2023, Yuvraj Singh, a veteran of Indian cricket, recommends steadfastness with KL Rahul batting at the No.4 position. Rahul's commendable comeback in the tournament, especially scoring a century against arch-rivals Pakistan, underscores his prowess in this crucial batting slot.

The recent Asia Cup witnessed Rahul's batting mastery, amassing 169 runs in just three innings and boasting an exceptional average of 84.50. His pivotal knocks against cricketing giants Pakistan and Sri Lanka played a significant role in India's triumphant run.

Rahul's recent statistics further advocate for his No.4 position. Exhibiting adaptability under pressure, he averages 60 at the No.4 spot and 50 at No.5. Interestingly, Rahul feels there's an imperceptible difference when transitioning between these positions.

Endorsing Rahul's consistency at this spot, former cricketer Gautam Gambhir also commended his stabilizing presence for the Indian side.

In an interaction with 'The Week', Yuvraj emphasized the significance of the No.4 position, a spot he himself has occupied for 108 matches. He suggested that India should capitalize on Rahul's current form and allocate him 15-20 games consistently at this position, ensuring stability and exploiting his high skill set.

"India want K.L. Rahul to bat at No. 4 now. They have to give him 15-20 games in that position. In the Asia Cup, coming back from injury, he scored a 100. On a spinning track [in Colombo, against Sri Lanka] he scored a vital 39 runs. He is looking good right now, so they need to stick with him at No. 4," said Yuvraj

"No. 4 is a crucial position, especially if the openers get out cheaply. No. 4 batsman needs to have the technique to leave the ball, play the short ball well, and try and create partnerships," he added.

This consistent approach to KL Rahul's position could be a strategic move for India, harnessing his current form and setting the stage for future successes.
