In a massive blow to USA cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended America's fast bowler Kyle Phillip from bowling with immediate effect in International cricket.

Apparently Phillip was found using an illegal bowling action during the ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifier match against West Indies which was played on June 18, as per the statement released by International Cricket Council.

Although USA lost the match to West Indies but Phillip put up a show with his exceptional bowling as he returned with a figure of 3/56 but later his action was found dubious and thus the apex cricket body suspended the bowler. The match officials reported his action following a 39-run loss.

The ICC’s Event Panel confirmed that the fast bowler used an illegal bowling action during the game. The Event Panel reviewed match footage of Phillip’s bowling action and concluded that he employs an illegal bowling action and as such, in accordance with Article 6.7 of the regulations, he is suspended from bowling in international cricket.

In accordance with Article 6.7 of the regulations, Phillip is immediately suspended from bowling in international cricket and the suspension will remain in place until he submits to a reassessment of his bowling action which concludes his bowling action is legal.

Notably, Phillip's suspension shall remain in place until he submits to a reassessment of his bowling action which concludes that his bowling action is legal.

As far as USA's performance in the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers is concerned, they have lost their first three matches. The latest was their five-wicket loss which they suffered against Netherlands on Thursday in Harare. USA are now teetering at the bottom of Group A before they face Zimbabwe on Monday their final group match.

Talking about the USA versus West Indies match, the Caribbeans secured a 39-run win despite USA's Gajanand Singh's batting exploits in which he scored a superb 101 off 109 balls. West Indies were skittled out for 297 by the USA, with Johnson Charles, Roston Chase and Jason Holder scoring impressive half centuries. In return USA were bowled out for 258/7.
