Before the match, both Starc and Malinga had 94 wickets in World Cups but now Starc has surpassed the legendary player by taking his tally to 95 wickets. He got 65 wickets in ODI World Cups and 30 scalps in the T20 edition of the mega tournament.

Australia beat Bangladesh by DLS Method

Australian bowlers restricted Bangladesh on the score of 140/8 and Pat Cummins was the pick of all with his astonishing hat-trick. Then during the chase, Travis Head and David Warner gave the team a blazing start which later provided them the advantage in the DLS. Warner even smashed a fifty but constant rain eventually forced the officials to call off the match. Australia won the match by 28 runs as per the DLS method.

“It was an exciting bowling performance with everyone chipping in. This is a very good playing XI, we spoke before the start to have the team to take us deep into the tournament and have a team based on the conditions and it's going well. I'm loving it (on captaincy), great team to lead, great group filled with experience, the support staff have been excellent and the families are here as well. Have another game tomorrow and we're looking forward to it,” said Mitchell Marsh in the post-match presentation.
