Canada speedster Kaleem Sana will look to target Pakistan openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in their upcoming clash which is scheduled to be played on June 11, Tuesday. Pakistan will face Canada for their third match which will be played at Nassau County International Stadium in New York.
Interestingly, Sana played for Pakistan in 2010 during his under-16 days and he was also the part of U-19 squad. He shared the dressing room with current Pakistan captain Babar Azam for eight years.
“Since I bowl with the new ball, so my targets will (obviously) be Rizwan and Babar."
“Babar was in the rival team, while I played my last first-class match in Pakistan,” he added.
Sana missed the 2010 World Cup due to a back injury ahead of the tournament. That had a huge impact on his pace and because of that the left-arm pacer was unable to feature in many games for Pakistan.
“When I got selected for Pakistan U-19 team in 2009, it felt great," Sana added. “Even during U-19 days, it was my dream to play for Pakistan’s national team.”
Pakistan are coming into this match after two consecutive losses against the United States and India. This clash is important for Men in Green to keep their hopes alive for the Super 8. On the other hand, Canada are coming after winning their last clash against Ireland. They won one match out of two outings in the marquee event.
