Star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is all set to make his much-awaited return to the Indian side after being named in India's squad for the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the USA and West Indies. His wife Dhanashree Verma was extremely happy with the news and reacted to it by posting a story on her Instagram. She shared the BCCI's post of the Indian squad and captioned it by writing “come on. @yuzi_chahal23 He is back.”
Yuzi Chahal's comeback
Yuzvendra Chahal will be making his return to the Indian side for the first time since August 2023. He last played against West Indies in a T20I match at Lauderhill. He has 96 wickets in 80 T20I matches and is also India's leading wicket-taker in this format.
Chahal is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League and is also the leading wicket-taker for his team with 13 wickets in 9 matches. He also created history after becoming the first bowler to take 200 wickets in IPL history. Chahal has been out of the International setup for a long time and now has the opportunity to prove himself once again.
India’s T20 World Cup squad
"The Senior Selection Committee on Tuesday picked India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be hosted in the West Indies and USA," BCCI said in their official statement.
"India will begin their World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 05, 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, followed by the marquee clash against Pakistan on June 09, 2024 at the same venue. India will then play USA and Canada on June 12 and 15 respectively," the statement further added.
