'Don't think I have to avoid any shot': Suryakumar Yadav warns Pakistan bowlers after India asked to bat first in T20 World Cup 2024

India star batter Suryakumar Yadav opened up on the team's preparation for the ongoing clash against Pakistan at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 9. SKY said that he will not hesitate to play any shot against the arch-rivals. 

 

The weather in New York is not favourable for the clash because, earlier the toss was delayed due to rain and after toss the game got delayed due to rain again. Suryakumar also revealed that the team was not prepared for the weather like this. 

 

“We definitely can't prepare for weather like this but our preperations have been good so far. I won't think of avoiding any shot on this track, intent is very important in this format, don't think I have to avoid any shot. If team requires me to stay there, I'll look to do that. It's always been a great competition between the two teams so really looking forward to it” said Suryakumar Yadav after toss. 

 

Suryakumar scored 57 runs in his five outings against Pakistan with a highest score of 18. He last featured in the T20 World Cup 2022 where India won the match by four wickets. 
 

Earlier, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bowl first against India. Azam Khan has been rested for the clash and Imad Wasim comes in place of wicketkeeper batter.
