India will take on South Africa in the T20 World Cup final.

India defeated England in the semifinal to make it to the title clash on June 29.

The T20 World Cup 2024 will culminate in a highly voltage final between India and South Africa on June 29. Both teams are hungry to end their respective ICC trophy droughts. India's last ICC title came in 2013 under MS Dhoni's leadership, when they conquered the Champions Trophy. South Africa's wait stretches back even further, with their lone triumph being the 1998 ICC Knockout Trophy in Bangladesh. Shockingly, they haven't reached a World Cup final (any format) before this. While India enter the match as favorites, South Africa shouldn't be underestimated. The final between India and South Africa, set for an 8:00 PM IST start in Barbados on June 29, could be impacted by a chance of rain, potentially leading to a shortened game. Fans will be watching the weather forecast closely, hoping for an uninterrupted clash for the coveted trophy.

Rain may try to play its part, but there's a backup plan

A reserve day is in place for the final, ensuring a result even if the weather disrupts June 29's schedule. However, the priority remains completing the match on the original day. Only if a minimum of 10 overs per side isn't possible will the game move to the reserve day.

But what if rain spoils the T20 World Cup final's reserve day too?

In that case, both India and South Africa will be declared joint champions, similar to the 2002 Champions Trophy final between India and Sri Lanka.

Will Rohit stick with the same team combination for T20 World Cup final?

With the T20 World Cup final looming, questions are swirling about India's playing XI. Shivam Dube's recent struggles, including a first-ball duck in the semi-final, have some fans calling for Sanju Samson's inclusion. However, the team management is likely to maintain a ‘winning combination’ approach. Shivam Dube might retain his spot despite his lack of runs, as India has shown a preference for stability throughout the tournament. In fact, they've only made one change during the Super 8 stage, replacing Mohammed Siraj with Kuldeep Yadav. This strategy has served them well so far, and they may choose not to disrupt the momentum heading into the final.
