Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan cricket team picked up a historic win over Bangladesh in the final Super 8 game of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent, on June 25 (Tuesday). During the match, there was a moment when Gulbadin Naib fell on the ground due to a hamstring injury right after their coach asked them to slow things down. As the all-rounder was later also seen bowling and running on the ground, he is being alleged of faking the injury to drag the game. Now, his teammate Naveen-ul-Haq who also won the Player of the Match award trolled him with a hilarious reel.

Rashid defends Gulbadin amidst faking injury allegations

Rashid was asked about Naib’s injury and what has been said on social media after the match and the Afghan captain defended his player.

"Well, I think he had some cramp. I don't know what happened to him. I don't know what's going on on social media. But, that doesn't matter. It's just an on-field injury. We didn't lose any overs, rain came, and we just went off (the field). It's not something that made any massive difference in the game. We came back on to the field in 5 minutes, and there was no massive difference. For me, it was just an injury and needed some time," Rashid said in the post-match press conference.
