Rain is being considered as a big threat for the clash between the Indian cricket team and Australia in match 51 of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia, on June 24 (Monday). If bad weather plays spoilsport it can ruin things for some teams. St Lucia has been covered with clouds and witnessed heavy downpours a day before the high-octane clash between the two cricketing giants.
St Lucia weather to play spoilsport
As per the ground zero report from Sports Tak, the rain has stopped a couple of hours before the start of the match. The sky is partly cloudy but there's also a bright sun which is a good sign and as per the latest reports, the rain is unlikely to play spoilsport during the match. Some passing showers can interrupt the match but it won't lead to a washout. This is an extremely great news for the Australian side as it will keep them alive in the race to the semi-finals.

Can Australia reach semis despite washout?
If rain causes a washout, Australia will end up with just three points in three matches. After this, they will be dependent on the Bangladesh team to win their final Super 8 game against Afghanistan and eliminate them from the semi-final race. If Australia lose to India or the match gets washed out, they will have their fingers crossed wishing Bangladesh can edge the Afghan side, who has been on a wonderful run this season.
