Rain has delayed the toss of the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan which is scheduled to be played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9.
Toss to take place at 8 PM IST
The covers are still on and the pitch inspection to take place at 10:45 AM Local Time (07.45 PM IST).
In another update, later it was learnt that the toss, which was earlier scheduled at 7:30 IST, will now take place at 8 PM IST as the covers is being removed with the rain getting subsided. However, for now there is no fear of overs deduction yet. If the match does not start by 9 PM IST, overs will be reduced.
Earlier, Accuweather had predicted 61 per cent chance of rain in New York at 10 am local time. That is 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the match, which is 10.30 am. And while the rain is expected to recede at 11 am, thunderstorms have been predicted to take place during the match, which could threaten a washout.
