The scarcity of India-Pakistan clashes on the cricket field due to political tension between the two nations often leads to tickets getting sold out early. Fans eagerly wait for the high-voltage and often resort to other methods to get tickets for the mega event. With few months to go to T20 World Cup 2024 between the two, the ticket prices on resale platforms went as high as Rs 1.86 crore.
As per a report by USA Today, the tickets for India's two group stage encounters against Pakistan on June 9 in New York and against Canada on June 15 in Florida have been sold out. For fans who still want to get hold of tickets, the prices went as high as Rs 1.86 crore on resale platforms StubHub and SeatGeek.
The resale websites also offered VIP tickets worth Rs 33.15 lakh which will cost the buyer Rs 41.44 lakh after applying the platform fee. The cheapest ticket of Rs 1.04 lakh is offered on StubHub whereas the most expensive ticket for Rs 1.86 crore is available on SeatGeek.
When the tickets were released by the International Cricket Board (ICC), the minimum price was Rs 497 whereas the most expensive one was Rs 33,148 (excluding taxes). The apex cricket board also said that there will be no additional fees imposed other than the specified taxes.
Way more expensive than the India vs Pakistan ODI World Cup 2023 clash
Comparing the ticket price of the India versus Pakistan clash in ODI World Cup 2023 on the resale market, it is more than thrice. As per the self-proclaimed world's largest secondary marketplace for tickets to live events, Viagogo, the most expensive ticket for the match between India and Pakistan was priced at Rs 57.15 lakh.
India’s previous T20 World Cup clash against Pakistan
Rohit Sharma-led India avenged their 10-wicket loss in the previous edition. Virat Kohli's unbeaten 82 led India to a six-wicket in a last-ball thriller against Babar Azam's Pakistan in Melbourne. The match was played in front of a jampacked crowd. The game also broke the viewership records at that time.
