Ireland Cricket Board finally announced the official squad for the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the United States and West Indies. Veteran player Paul Stirling has been named the captain of the Irish side for the mega tournament. They are placed in Group A with India, Pakistan, USA and Canada.

 

Ireland allows Joshua Little to play IPL instead of Pakistan series

 

Ireland is all set to compete against Pakistan and then against Netherlands and Scotland in a tri-series to prepare for the T20 World Cup. They have named a 14-member squad for these series and a 15-member squad for the mega tournament. Joshua Little who is currently playing Indian Premier League has been allowed to play for Gujarat Titans and directly join the Irish team in the showpiece event.

“The three squads feature the same 14 players, however, Josh Little (currently playing in the IPL) will be added as the 15th squad member at the T20 World Cup. Ireland Men are currently ranked 11th in the world in T20Is,” Ireland wrote in their official statement.
