USA vs Ireland's T20 World Cup is under rain threat.

If the USA vs Ireland clash gets washed out Pakistan's campaign will come to a halt in T20 World Cup.

The Florida weather is set to play a dampener in the crucial T20 World Cup clash between USA and Ireland on June 14, which will decide the Pakistan's Super 8 qualification fate. The USA versus Ireland clash is scheduled to be played at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida from 8 pm IST. Heavy rain has pummeled Broward County, Florida in the southeastern part of the state for the past two days, triggering severe flooding. Unfortunately, the forecast offers little relief, with a high chance of more rain expected on Friday, June 14.

Rain to play spoilsport in USA vs IRE clash

Sports Tak too reached the ground zero to fetch the exact details on the weather around the venue where Ireland and USA will be locking horns with each other. Sports Tak reported from the Lauderdale, which is mere 15-20 minutes away from the Lauderhill where the match is slated to be played.

The clouds still linger around the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, with a chance of storms prevalent in the area. It's still raining there even at the night. There is a small patch where one can see the sky getting clear. But you can see that it's raining there. And this city downtown is surrounded by clouds with the sounds of lightning buzzing around the city.

There's a chance of intermittent rain showers on the match day, likely due to the recent stretch of wet weather over the past 3-4 days. This has left the outfield quite damp. However, being a sand-based field in a coastal area, it should drain relatively quickly and shouldn't pose a major issue.

The key is for the rain to stop completely. While the current situation isn't ideal.

It could be a small match between the Ireland and USA. The USA will have to win in order to qualify if the match does take place. Pakistan will be hoping for a match today and would not want this rain to continue. They want a match and the US to lose. Only then will they will be afloat in the Super 8 race. Notably, since it was raining persistently, India cancelled their practice session yesterday (June 13) here.

What if the USA vs Ireland match gets washed out?

Heavy rain has already forced the abandonment of matches between Scotland and England, as well as Sri Lanka and Nepal. There's a chance of similar weather affecting the crucial USA verusu Ireland match. If rain washes out the game completely, with no result possible, both US and Ireland would share a single point. However, this scenario would have a significant impact on the group standings.

The USA already have four points. A washout point would take them to five, effectively securing their place in the Super 8 stage.

For Pakistan, a washout would be disastrous.  Even with a perfect win in their final match, they can only reach a maximum of four points. Pakistan fans will be hoping for clear skies and a full match to keep their qualification hopes alive.
