Nepal cricket star Sandeep Lamichhane got his visa denied by the United States Embassy hampering his chance to participate in the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the USA and West Indies. Now, Nepal fans have come down to the streets in heavy numbers and are protesting against the visa denials. There are more than ten thousand people on the streets of Kathmandu protesting against the US and the US embassy.
Sandeep Lamichhane reacted to US visa denial
Lamichhane revealed that his visa application for the T20 World Cup 2024 was denied by the US Embassy in Nepal, on May 22. He also stated about the previous visa denial he faced for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

"And the @USEmbassyNepal did it again what they did back in 2019, they denied my Visa for the T-20 World Cup happening in the USA and West Indies. Unfortunate. I am sorry to all the well-wishers of Nepal Cricket. @USAmbNepal @CricketNep," said Lamichhane on X (previously known as Twitter).
Sandeep Lamichhane's Cricket Career
Lamichhane got 98 wickets in his 50 T20I matches and 112 scalps in 51 ODIs. He also featured in the Indian Premier League he was also a part of the Delhi Capitals franchise in 2018 and 2019 where he picked 5 and 8 wickets respectively.
