England fast bowler Ollie Robinson had a day to forget during a County Championship match between Sussex and Leicestershire. He unintentionally set a record for conceding the second-highest number of runs in a single over in First-Class cricket history.
Robinson hammered for 43 runs in an over
Robinson's woes came in an over where he leaked a whopping 43 runs. Leicestershire batsman Louis Kimber capitalised on the situation, smashing five sixes and three boundaries. To make matters worse, Robinson also bowled three no-balls, each of which Kimber mercilessly dispatched for six runs.
Playing for Sussex, Robinson delivered an over consisting of nine balls, which included three no-balls. During this over, Leicestershire's Louis Kimber hit him for five sixes and three fours, along with a single.

MOST RUNS CONCEDED OFF AN OVER
Robert Vance - 77 runs - Wellington vs Canterbury (1989-90)
Olllie Robinson - 43 runs - Sussex vs Leicestershire (2024)
Alex Tudor - 38 runs - Surrey vs Lancashire (1998)
Just days after another bowler made unwanted history, England pacer Ollie Robinson has taken the unfortunate crown. Earlier this week, Shoaib Bashir (on loan to Worcestershire) conceded a record-tying 38 runs in an over against Surrey, featuring five sixes from batsman Dan Lawrence.
However, Robinson has now surpassed that feat. During a County Championship match between Sussex and Leicestershire, Robinson's over was a nightmare, leaking a staggering 46 runs. Leicestershire's Louis Kimber capitalized ruthlessly, launching five sixes and three boundaries off Robinson's bowling. Kimber, who began the over at 72 not out from 56 deliveries, even reached his century during this carnage, highlighting the damage Robinson endured.
This forgettable performance comes at a crucial time for Robinson. With Jimmy Anderson's retirement, competition for a place in the England Test team this summer is heating up. Robinson will be hoping to bounce back and prove his worth.
