Anwar Maqsood on Pakistan's loss

Anwar Maqsood is a famous Pakistani celebrity mostly known for his comedy gimmicks. He displayed his humours once again while talking about Pakistan's loss against USA. He said the team lost the match because they have not received the IMF loan yet and losing to the US was the condition to sanction it.

"They [Pakistan] were forced to lose. An IMF-sanctioned loan is due. We haven’t received the grant. It might as well have been a condition, ‘Lose to America, then we’ll give the money.’ I can’t think of any other reason," Maqsood said in video which is now going viral all across the social space at a rapid pace.

"The Pakistanis who have bought the tickets [for the game], they, I think, will resell them at half the price," he added while talking about the India vs Pakistan game.

USA upset Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2024

The USA defeated Pakistan to pull off one of the biggest upsets in the history of T20 World Cups. The Men in Green side could only post 159/7 in 20 overs and USA managed to level the score. They dragged the match to the super over, where they batted first and scored 18 runs and it was enough to snatch victory from Pakistan's claws. United States has now taken the top spot in Group A with two straight wins.

On the contrary, Pakistan will be taking on their arch-rivals India in the next match which will be played in New York, on June 9. Babar Azam's side is already under a lot of pressure with many underwhelming performances in the T20 format. However, winning the India match will be crucial in order to keep their hopes of reaching Super 8 alive.
