Rohit Sharma is gearing up for India vs England's T20 World Cup semifinal.

Legendary Kapil Dev has ignited discussions by praising Rohit Sharma's leadership style as captain. This comes amidst India's dominant run in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. India are currently gearing up for their T20 World Cup clash against England which is slated to be played on June 27. Rohit Sharma's India have been a force to be reckoned with, currently holding an unbeaten record alongside South Africa. Their journey to the semi-finals has been impressive, overcoming challenges in the group stages against Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA. In the Super 8s, they continued their winning streak against Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and even dethroned the reigning champions, Australia. What's particularly interesting is Kapil Dev's focus on Rohit's captaincy, contrasting it with his predecessor Virat Kohli's approach. This sparks curiosity about the key differences between the two leadership styles.

Kapil Dev Credits Rohit's Composed Leadership for India's Success

With India on a roll in the T20 World Cup and just two victories away from glory, former captain Kapil Dev has lauded Rohit Sharma's leadership style. In a recent interview with ABP News, Dev highlighted a key difference between Sharma and his predecessor Virat Kohli. According to Dev, Rohit doesn't emulate Kohli's on-field intensity. He doesn't rely on outward displays of aggression, but rather focuses on his own strengths and limitations as a captain. This composed approach, suggests Dev, is a key factor in keeping the entire team motivated and focused on the collective goal. By commending Rohit for keeping the entire team happy, Dev emphasizes the importance of fostering a positive and unified environment within the squad.

"He doesn't play like Virat, doesn't jump around, but he knows his limitations. And within those limitations, no one is better than him," said Kapil Dev.

"Many great players come along, and they lead just for themselves. So Rohit has got one extra tick marked over them because he keeps the entire team happy," he added.

India seek redemption in rematch with England

The stage is set for a thrilling T20 World Cup semi-final clash. Team India will lock horns with defending champions England on Wednesday, June 27th, in Guyana. This match holds immense significance for India, as they seek revenge for their crushing 10-wicket defeat against England in the last edition's semi-final. The first semi-final, also on June 27, will be a historic moment for both Afghanistan and South Africa. Both teams are vying for their maiden appearance in a T20 World Cup final. Afghanistan, in particular, will be aiming to create a major upset against the more experienced South African side.
