Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is all set to go one-on-one against Paul Stirling's Ireland in match 8 of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, on June 5 (Wednesday). This is the opening match for both teams and they will be eyeing to kick things off with a good win. Everyone is excited about the Men in Blue starting their campaign but are also worried that the rain might play spoilsport.
India had a dominant outing in the warm-up fixture against Bangladesh but Ireland lost their match against Sri Lanka. However, the Irish side picked up a good win over Pakistan recently and would be confident with their recent performances. They would try to bank on that and try to put on a show against India in an attempt to pull off an upset.

There is not much chance of rain as per the New York weather forecast. There are only chances of slight drizzle in the day but as the day goes ahead, the precipitation chances go up to 40 percent which can be a little bothering for the fans. However, the chances are slight only and the match is most likely set to go ahead without any interference. The Scotland vs England game was abandoned due to rain as well after just 10 overs in the first innings. Hopefully, this won't be the sight during India's game.
