Canada's captain Saad bin Zafar has expressed his admiration for Virat Kohli, highlighting his impact on both Indian and global cricket as the reason for his favoritism. Canada will take on India in their last group match of the T20 World Cup. This marks the first time the two teams will face each other in a T20I match, presenting a significant opportunity for Zafar's squad to challenge one of cricket's powerhouses.
The weather in Florida might pose a challenge, as Miami is currently dealing with flash floods. Regardless of whether the match proceeds, it remains a substantial occasion for Canada's players, an associate nation, to compete against some of the world's top cricket stars. In a recent video by Star Sports, Zafar and his team were seen admiring Kohli's cover drives and Suryakumar Yadav's reverse scoops.
"Virat Kohli is my favourite for what he has done, not just for Indian cricket but, for world cricket. I have all admiration for him," Zafar said.
"Got to be Kohli, like just watching him. Obviously, the way he plays like both sides of the wicket, to be honest. But like Kohli cover drive is a classic," Nicholas Kirton said.
India's star batsman hasn't gotten a high score yet in the T20 World Cup. In fact, he's only managed five runs in three matches. Despite this, his fans are still behind him. However, there have also been compliments for Suryakumar Yadav (SKY).
"Suryakumar Yadav, I mean, the position he gets into, and he makes it look so effortless," Jeremy Gordon said.
"India being the number one T20I team at the moment and for us to share the same platform, same ground with them, like it's an exciting time. And if we can do well, we can make a name for ourselves in the cricketing circuit," Zafar said.
