Shayan Jahangir has been picked as Patel's replacement for the clash against India.

The in-form USA captain Monank Patel missed out the match against India at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. Patel got ruled out due to a left-shoulder injury. In his absence, Aaron Jones assumed the captaincy duties against the Rohit Sharma-led side.

Shayan Jahangir replaced Patel in the side. The Karachi-born batter has played just one T20I for USA. Jones made another change to the side by replacing Nosthush Kenjige with Shadley van Schalkwyk. 35-year-old South Africa-born left-arm pacer Shadley has eight wickets from seven T20Is.

“We would have bowled first as well, there's some help for the bowlers early. He's having a niggle and should be back quickly. It should be a good game and we're looking to play well. The camp is very positive, just looking to play some good cricket. Shayan Jahangir replaces Monank and Shadley is in for Nosthush,” he said at the coin toss.

No changes for India

On the other hand, Rohit did not make any changes to the winning combination.

“We will bowl first. It has played better in the last two games, but you need to assess the conditions quickly and then let the game take over. It's all about constantly getting better and keeping the momentum going. It's important to do the right things. That was a great game to play, we didn't have enough runs on the board, but the bowlers came to the party and won the game for us. We're playing the same team,” said the Indian captain after winning the toss.
