WI beat Uganda by 134 runs.

Uganada got all out on 39 runs.

This is joint-lowest score in the T20 World Cup.

Rovman Powell-led West Indies defeated Brian Masaba's Uganda by a massive margin of 134 runs in match 18 of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, on June 9 (Sunday). Windies batting first posted 173/5 on the scoreboard and then bowled out Uganda on just 39 runs. This is the joint-lowest score in the history of the mega tournament. Akeal Hosein's astonishing fifer was the real highlight of this match.

Windies post 173/5

Nobody in the Winides camp hit a half-century but all of them played good knocks and took their team to a great total. Johnson Charles' 44 off 42 balls and Andre Russell's unbeaten 30 off just 17 balls were the highlights from their innings. Powell, Pooran, and Rutherford played good cameo knocks as well.

39 All Out

Then it was time to do the job with the ball and it appeared to be a cakewalk for the hosts. No Uganda batter apart from Juma Miyagi could even reach a double-digit score. There were even three ducks. As a result, they got all out on 39 runs. This is also the joint-lowest score in the T20 World Cups. The Netherlands got all out on 39 back in 2014 against Sri Lanka.

Akeal Hosein creates history

Windies star spinner picked up a fifer and paved the way for the historic win. He also became the first-ever bowler to grab a five-wicket haul for West Indies in the T20 World Cups.
