Dinesh Karthik pens an emotional tweet, thanks RCB fans and franchise for helping him achieve his dream

Reacting to a congratulatory message and video shared by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on their official Twitter handle, the franchise's and Team India's star wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik came up with a heartfelt response. RCB, who provided a perfect platform and opportunity to Karthik in IPL 2022, were chuffed by the veteran's selection in Team India's squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

 

"We couldn’t be more happy for you, @DineshKarthik! Special comeback from a special player. #PlayBold #TeamIndia #WeAreChallengers," RCB said in a tweet in which they also shared an 18-second video.

In response to the franchise's appreciation, Karthik quoted the tweet and said, "Thanks @RCBTweets for bein an integral part of the journey and helping me achieve my dream. Most importantly to all the RCB fans who chant RCB,RCB even when am in my blues representing team INDIA , I LOVE YOU  GUYS. THANKS @malolanr, @CoachHesson, SANJAY BANGAR, @basu2013, S SRIRAM.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the national squad for the upcoming big-ticket ICC T20 World Cup on September 12 (Monday). While there weren't any surprises in the Indian squad, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik was dully rewarded for his stunning performances with the bat in T20s in 2022.

 

Karthik, who was part of the title-winning Indian squad in 2007, was named in India's squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. And after getting selected, the Tamil Nadu batter posted a heartfelt tweet to celebrate his inclusion in the squad.

 

"Dreams do come true," wrote Karthik on Twitter, along with a blue heart emoji.

Karthik earned his place in the World Cup through his mercurial performance with the bat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season where he emerged as the best finisher of the tournament. The swashbuckling batter finished the 15th edition of the cash-rich league with 330 runs in 16 matches at a stunning strike rate of 183.33.
