Virat Kohli has been at his best for India in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, topping the batting charts with 246 runs to his name in the five Super 12 matches that he has played. A pinnacle of fitness, Kohli was struck on his groin during India's practice session ahead of the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup, and this raised a lot of concerns among the medical staff.
The incident took place when the former skipper was batting in the nets. He was facing pacer Harshal Patel and a ball hit him straight on the groin, causing him some amount of discomfort.
Sports Tak brings you an exclusive video of the incident, from Adelaide, the venue of India's game vs England.
However, Kohli being a strong individual with a lot of tenacity, the veteran batter was quick to get back on his feet and go back to business with the bat.
A day before, a similar issue plagued current skipper Rohit Sharma, who had to walk out of the nets session after suffering an injury. Rohit was hit by a ball in the nets while he was practicing against throwdown experts. The 35-year-old was hit on his right arm and after that, the right-handed batter sat down for some time, assessed his injury and returned to the nets to start the net session again.
Rohit then played a couple of more deliveries in the nets but was clearly in visible pain. After that, the Indian captain stopped training for a brief period before re-starting the net session under the supervision of support staff.
