Suryakumar Yadav's batting and personality are loaded with nonchalance. He walks out chewing gum, smacks bowlers to all corners of the ground and then walks off chewing gum, soaking the applause from a thoroughly entertained crowd. Throughout the 2022 T20 World Cup, the stylish right-handed batter tormented opposition bowlers with breathtaking shots, sending the cherry flying to all corners of the ground.

Suryakumar was perhaps the biggest positive for the Men in Blue even though the team failed to reach the promised land and succumbed in the semi-finals against eventual champions England. The swashbuckling Mumbai Indians' batter aggregated 239 runs in six matches at a stunning strike rate of 189.68 and also notched three half-centuries.

Former India cricketer-turned-coach, Sanjay Bangar showered praise on Suryakumar and said that the Indian batter is not a flat track bully and has excelled in overseas conditions just like in India.

"He has become a totally all-round batter. There was a time when Suryakumar Yadav was known for playing only shots over fine leg. Now his range has increased, his stature has increased. The special thing is that in pressure situations, whether it is Australian or English conditions, which are considered the most difficult for batting, he has gone there and on his first tour itself, he has left his impact," Bangar said on Star Sports.

Further commenting on his batting heroics, Bangar reckons that Suryakumar will revolutionalise Indian T20 cricket and the country needs to find more players with his skillset.

"Suryakumar Yadav is a player who will revolutionise Indian T20 cricket. You will have to find more multi-dimensional players like him, just like the England team, which is filled with all-rounders till No. 9 or No. 10. Players who can target both sides of the wicket with their shots, can play the switch hit, reverse sweep, and find unconventional pockets. I feel such players will get more encouragement. The number of options he has, he plays all types of shots. He is an inspiration, and you will get to see more players who play like that going ahead," Bangar added.
