Indian players faced disappointment after their optional training session on October 25. The dressing room food menu turned out to be an embarrassment as it included fruits, falafel and 'make your own sandwich', as per a report by Indian Express.

As the food was cold and not up to players' standards, they addressed the issue to a concerned official at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The option session was attended by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Hooda.

Indian fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh and all-rounders Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya were given a rest after the high-voltage clash at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) against Pakistan.

“The food was not up to the mark. We can’t have a sandwich after a practice session,” a member of the Indian squad told the publication.

While many decided to skip the food at the ground altogether, few players had falafel after a rigorous practice session.

On the other hand, the Indian team has decided to skip the practice session on the eve of their second group stage clash against Netherlands. The reason behind the reluctance is that the practice session will be held at Blacktown which is more than 40 km away from the hotel.

It is not that International Cricket Council (ICC) changed the venue of practice at short notice. The schedules get approved by the teams in advance. The change is only made when there are unavoidable circumstances.

After a thrilling win over arch-rivals Pakistan to start off their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign, India will take on the Dutch on October 27. India would like to climb up the points table of Group 2 with a big win over Netherlands at the MCG before they face South Africa on October 30 at the bouncy track of Perth.
