The outbreak of Covid-19 gripped the entire world with uncertainty. The lockdown which ensued kept people confined to their homes. Amidst being restricted inside the four walls of his home, star Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal found a new interest which turned out to be a life-changing moment in his life. Chahal's desire to learn dancing brought him closer to Dhanashree Verma, who describes herself as a doctor, choreographer and YouTuber, and their bond soon turned into a 'happily ever after'. Let's take a look at the love story of Chahal and his better half, Dhanashree.
Online chemistry
It all began in 2020 when Chahal reached out to Dhanashree to learn dancing. The duo met virtually in 2020 during the Covid-enforced lockdown. It all started as a student-teacher relationship and blossomed into mushy chemistry. The Indian leg-spinner wanted to learn dance and closely watched Dhanashree's videos and hence the two started to build a bond that later turned into love and marriage.
"It started off as a student-teacher relationship in April. He had seen my dance videos on YouTube and knew about my work. During the lockdown, Yuzi decided to learn a few new things, including dance. So, he got in touch with me and we started our classes. Slowly we became friends and sort of felt a connect," Dhanashree had told Hindustan Times in 2020.
The proposal
After falling in love with Dhanashree, Chahal didn't shy away from expressing his feelings. After two months of their first virtual meeting, Chahal proposed Dhanashree. On August 8, 2020, the Indian leg spinner sent social media into overdrive when he posted pictures with his fiancé after the Roka ceremony.
"Yuzi is humble, down-to-earth, friendly and a total family guy. His humility bowled me over. The kind of values I’ve been brought up with, I actually wanted someone like him as my life partner. We both are ambitious and supportive of each other’s professions. We both are fun-loving, so there’s never going to be a dull moment," Dhanashree had said.
The wedding
It all happened at a break-neck speed. In the year in which they first met, Chahal and Dhanashree tied the knot and broke the news of their marriage on December 22, 2020. From thereon, both of them have been regularly sharing mushy posts on social media.
When it comes to cricket, Dhanashree has been often spotted in the stands cheering Chahal on, especially during the Indian Premier League (IPL). Recently, there were rumours about a fall-out between the two love birds but both of them quashed all the conjecture by continuing to be by each other's side.
