It's a new day in India and a billion Indians are still hungover from the miracle that transpired in Melbourne on October 23 (Sunday). Diwali celebrations seem to have taken a back seat in a cricket-crazy country with people still finding it hard to fathom how Virat Kohli managed arguably the biggest heist in T20 cricket, that too at the 'G' (Melbourne Cricket Ground), eliciting nerves of steel in front of a jam-packed crowd.

Back in India, people of all age groups screamed, jumped and danced in complete amazement and at the 'G' the scenes were as candid as it gets. Team India head coach Rahul Dravid, who is known for his calmness, was chuffed and his emotions were as raw as it gets. Captain Rohit Sharma lifted Kohli in the middle of the MCG, as if saying thank you to the maverick batter for shouldering the load of expectations of over a billion people. And then thousands of Indian fans inside the stadium, who screamed and howled with no restraint whatsoever.

In a three-minute video shared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on its social media handles, the raw emotions were beautifully captured, which now becomes a memory that will remain indelibly edged in cricket.

As dramatic as an India vs Pakistan clash can be. It was a game to be remembered for ages. Virat Kohli played his best T20I knock in a tricky run chase at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) whereas Pakistan’s inexperience led to mistakes in the slog overs that cost them the match. Rohit Sharma-led India won the game by four wickets off the final ball of the match.
