Highlights:

India have won the U19 World Cup five times, which is the most by a team.

Australia have won the U19 World Cup three times, which is the second-most by a team.

The Indian U19 cricket team led by Uday Saharan took the field on February 11 (Sunday) in the World Cup final against Australia with the hopes of winning the country's sixth title in the competition. Under the leadership of Uday Saharan, the Indian team has played exceptional cricket, winning all the matches en route to the final. Uday has led the team from the front, emerging as the leading run-scorer in the tournament.

Ahead of the marquee final, the Sports Tak caught up with Uday's parents, who offered prayers at Balaji Temple on the morning of the summit clash.

Here's what Uday's father had to say:

What prayer did you offer for your son and his team today?

Today, my prayer was focused on India clinching the World Cup victory. I hold a strong belief that my prayers will be heard and answered.

What advice did you share with your son ahead of the final match?

I encouraged him by acknowledging the team's current form and urged them to maintain their momentum in the final. I emphasised the importance of adapting to the game's flow and making decisions based on the situation at hand.

What strategy should the team employ if they win the toss in the final?

The team is fully equipped to tackle any given situation, whether it involves setting a formidable score or chasing a target. Specifically, Uday has shown remarkable skill in leading successful chases.

In case India is setting the score, what target would be considered ideal?

Considering the pitch and playing conditions, a target of 280 runs would be deemed competitive. Although the team has the capability to defend a total of 250, setting anything below that might tilt the scales in favor of Australia.

The Sports Tak also had a conversation with Uday Saharan's mother, who shared that she has also offered prayers for Team India's victory in the final. Additionally, she counseled her son to approach the game with patience and to have faith in divine guidance.
