Australia captain Hugh Weibgen won the all-important toss and elected to bat against India in the U19 World Cup final at Willowmoore Park in Benoni. Australia made one change to their playing XI that featured in the semi-final. Charlie Anderson replaced Tom Campbell. India named an unchanged playing XI from their semi-final win over South Africa.

India's road to U19 World Cup final

India's journey to the final has been nothing short of spectacular, with a series of dominant performances that have seen them emerge victorious in all their matches. Their campaign kicked off with an 84-run victory over Bangladesh, followed by a commanding 201-run win against Ireland, and a similar margin of victory over the USA in the group stages.

The team continued their impressive form into the Super Sixes, securing a 214-run win over New Zealand and a 132-run victory against Nepal.

Their semi-final clash with South Africa was a tightly contested affair, but India emerged victorious by two wickets, thanks to a pivotal partnership between captain Uday Saharan and Sachin Dhas.

Australia's path to the final has showcased their resilience and determination, beginning with a narrow four-wicket win against Namibia. They then demonstrated their prowess with a 225-run demolition of Zimbabwe and a comfortable six-wicket win over Sri Lanka to top their group.

Despite a rain-affected no-result match against West Indies in the Super Six stage, Australia made a strong statement by defeating England by 110 runs (DLS method). Their semi-final against Pakistan was a nail-biting encounter that saw them secure their spot in the final with a one-wicket victory.
