Ahead of India's T20 World Cup 2023 semifinal clash against Australia, one major change has been made in the India squad. Sneh Rana has been named replacement for Pooja Vastrakar who was admitted to hospital on the eve of semifinal. The change has been approved by Event Technical Committee off ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023. Vastrakar has been ruled out due to an upper respiratory tract infection.
The Event Technical Commitee for the ICC women's T20 World Cup consists of Chris Tetley (Chair, ICC Head of Events), Russell Adams (Tournament Director), Snehal Pradhan (ICC Women’s Cricket Manager), Mike Gajjar (Cricket South Africa representative), Ian Bishop and Lisa Sthalekar (both independent).
Vastrakar has taken two wickets from four group stage matches. His best bowling performance was against West Indies where he took one wicket and conceded 21 runs in her quota of four overs.
According to reports, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was also admitted to the hospital on February 22. She was later discharged in the evening.
