India fast-bowling all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been excluded from the Shubman Gill-led side's playing XI for the third ODI against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Soon after Gill announced his exclusion from the playing XI, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that Neddy had sustained an injury in the second ODI.
Notably, Nitish Kumar Reddy made his ODI debut during the first ODI of the ongoing ODI series at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
He represented India in the first two ODIs before sustaining a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide. Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 27 runs in his two ODIs with a highest score of 19 unbeaten. The fast bowling all-rounder managed to pock a wicket in the fifty over format of the game. BCCI took their 'X' to reveal that their medical team is monitoring Nitish.
"Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide and was subsequently unavailable for selection for the third ODI. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring him on a daily basis" wrote BCCI.

India vs Australia 3rd ODI toss
Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to bat against India. Team India featured with two changes as they included veteran spinner Kuldeep Yadav and speedster Prasidh Krishna in place of Arshdeep Singh and Nitish Reddy. On the other hand, Australia also featured two changes, adding Nathan Ellis in place of Xavier Bartlett. Australia have already won the series by defeating India in the first two outings so the Men in Blue will surely look to bounce back in the third ODI to save series whitewash.
