IND vs AUS 5th Test Controversy: Day 1 of the Sydney Test was filled with everything be it action, controversy or drama. The day was concluded by a heated altercation between Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah and Sam Konstas. The 19-year-old Australian has been the epicentre of all controversial interactions since his infamous shoulder bump with Virat Kohli. He even tried to sledge Indian players like Yashasvi Jaiswal in the Melbourne Test. However, this time around he tried to rile things up with India's premium pacer Jasprit Bumrah who is known for his calm demeanour.

Bumrah shuts up Aussie brat

This happened during the final over before stumps. Right before the bight ball, Usman Khawaja was not ready and stopped Bumrah who was about to start his run-up. The pacer was not happy with that and was expressing it before Konstas unnecessarily and out of nowhere gets involved in the matter by saying some words towards Bumrah. Then both players were seen approaching each other and the Indian captain was really furious. The umpire had to intervene to keep both parties separated.

However, Bumrah gave him a befitting reply as he dismissed Usman Khawaja just after a ball. After which, he turned towards Konstas and gave him a good stare. Everyone was rushed into a celebration. Even Kohli was seen running towards Konstas celebrating but keeping a distance this time around.

India end Day 1 on good note

The Indian cricket team which was being led by Jasprit Bumrah in the Sydney Test did not get a good start with the bat as they got all out for just 185. Rishabh Pant was their highest run-scorer with 40 runs and Bumrah made a crucial contribution at the end by scoring a highlight of 22 runs. Scott Boland led the charge with ball and picked up four wickets, while Starc and Cummins followed the lead with three and two wickets respectively. Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon settle with one.

Australia got to bat for three over and they made a start with Konstas stepping out and hitting Bumrah for a four on the first ball. However, it was Bumrah who had the last laugh as he dismissed Usman Khawaja on the final ball before stumps.
