Team India are currently practising in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 to get familiar with Australian conditions before the five-Test match series scheduled to start from November 22. The upcoming Test series against Australia is important for India to seal their berth for the World Test Championship (WTC) final which will take place in June next year. Team India needs to register 4-0 win in five Test match series to seal the WTC final spot without depending on other opponents.
As per the reporters in Australia, India's top batters including Virat Kohli, and Yashasvi Jaiswal struggled during the match stimulation session at WACA in Perth. All batters were caught edging behind the wicket. India wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul also got injured during the match simulation and he was forced to leave the field early.
Team India is practising without skipper Rohit Sharma as he is currently on a break citing personal reasons and there is a high possibility that he will miss the first Test match.
