When India and Australia play each other in the Day-Night Test, which begins on December 6 at the Adelaide Oval, Virat Kohli is in the position of matching or surpassing the legendary Don Bradman's all-time record. With 11 hundred from 19 games in England between 1930 and 1948, Bradman presently holds the record for the most international hundreds by a batter in a visiting nation.
Since he began playing in 2011, Kohli has amassed 10 hundred from 43 games played in Australia. The list also includes Sir Vivian Richards (8 centuries in England), Sunil Gavaskar (7 centuries in the West Indies), Jack Hobbs (9 centuries in Australia), and Sachin Tendulkar (9 centuries in Sri Lanka). Kohli has amassed 2710 runs at an average of 54.20 in 43 Australian games, including a high of 169 at the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground in December 2014.
Virat Kohli's ton in Perth
When he scored his 30th Test century in the first Test at the Perth Stadium, Kohli was simply amazing. India bowled the opposition out for 238 after setting the Australians a lofty score of 534 thanks to his knock.
Josh Hazlewood removed Kohli for just five runs in the first innings, and he failed. However, Kohli used eight fours and two sixes to reach an undefeated 100 off 143 balls in the second. Following the knock, Kohli gave his wife, Anushka Sharma, praise for supporting him no matter what.
"I take pride in performing for my country. The fact that she is here makes it even more special for me. Yeah, Anushka has been right by my side through thick and thin. So, she knows everything that goes on behind the scenes. What goes on the head when you don’t play as well or make a few mistakes. I just want to contribute to the team’s cause, I am not a guy who wants to hang around just for the sake of it," Kohli said.
Now, Kohli will try to maintain his form in Adelaide and give India a significant 2-0 series lead.
