His dismissal sparked big controversy.

Vaughan and Waugh react to Rohit's remark.

The controversial dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal on Day 5 of the Boxing Day Test match against Australia is still in the news, and there are differing views on whether the batter was correctly declared out. Former England captain Michael Vaughan disagrees with the post-match remarks made by Rohit Sharma and BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla, stating that there is no question that Jaiswal was out and that all discussion about it needs to 'stop'.

BCCI vice-president on Jaiswal's dismissal

The BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla was extremely unimpressed with the decision made by the third umpire and called it out by saying that Jaiswal was clearly not out. "Yashasavi Jaiswal was clearly not out. Third umpire should have taken note of what technology was suggesting. While over ruling field umpire, third umpire should have solid reasons," he wrote from his official 'X' account.

Rohit Sharma's subtle call out to technology glitches only effecting India

Jaiswal attempted to play a hook shot off Pat Cummins' bowling on the last day of the thrilling Test match between Australia and India in Melbourne, but he was only able to nick the ball to wicketkeeper. Joel Wilson, the on-field official, declared Jaiswal not out. But Australia went for a review right away. Replays showed that Jaiswal did edge the ball. But on Snicko, there was no deflection. The third umpire reversed the on-field call based on visual evidence and declared him out. Following India's 184-run defeat in the Melbourne Test, skipper Rohit Sharma stated that everyone understands technology is not always accurate but all of these 50-50 decisions appear to be working against the Indian team.

Vaughan and Waugh hit back at Rohit

"Seriously .. all this has to stop .. It was OUT .. all decisions yesterday were the correct ones .. Australia were just better this week," Michael Vaughan wrote on X formerly known as Twitter to show disagreement with Rohit Sharma.

Former Australia batter Mark Waugh stated that there is no reason to question the judgment and that it was the right one. He wrote "Let’s get this straight once and for all. Jaiswal was clearly out it was a very obvious deflection off the bat/glove. Not sure how umpire missed it in the first place. Snicko missed it maybe as it was a very soft glancing blow but at the end of the day right decision was made."
