Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 bound Indian cricket team are currently in Australia practising at WACA stadium in Perth for the upcoming five-Test match assignment which is scheduled to start from November 22. Since starting their training on Wednesday, the team has been hard at work in the nets, with head coach Gautam Gambhir and the support staff closely overseeing their progress, especially focusing on the batting lineup.
During the rigorous sessions, players also took a break to enjoy some lighter moments. Rishabh Pant took to the nets as a bowler, going up against none other than Jasprit Bumrah in his role as a batter. The two had a lively exchange, with Pant playfully challenging Bumrah, promising to get him out, and even attempting a few bouncers for fun.
Earlier, Virat Kohli spent an extended session in the nets alongside the other main batters. On Friday, the team conducted a match simulation and played an intra-squad warm-up game at the WACA. Captain Rohit Sharma, who is awaiting the birth of his second child, has not yet joined the squad. However, coach Gautam Gambhir remains optimistic that Rohit could join them before the opening Test. Official confirmation on his availability is still pending. The first Test is scheduled to begin on November 22 at Optus Stadium in Perth.
